Death Penalty or No Death Penalty

I agree that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment. Although someone may have committed a seriuos crime, that doesn't give others the right to execute them. The individual will eventually face death if they are sentenced to life in prison so why should they have to die. Two wrongs don't make a right and what lesson are we showing our young youth and what message is America showing if we allow people to be executed because they committed a crime. That person could want to change and turn their life around and become a productive citizen in society, but we would never know if the person is executed. America is also in enough debt as it is, and to spend unnecessary tax dollars on murdering people is completely insane! I believe in my heart that everyone deserves a second chance for their wrongdoings, others may disagree but still a person shouldn't have to die because of a crime they committed. Honestly in my opinion that isnt a punishment, that isnt going to change the fact that a crime was committed, but instead why not make the person just suffer by sentencing them to life in prison. executing someone to prove that murder is wrong is defeating the whole purpose that murder is wrong because regardless someone is still getting murdered. The whole idea of murder as revenge is immoral and unethical because it goes against everything stands for as a nation. I can only hope and pray that people will begin to realize that executing the person who committed a crime doesnt solve the situation and that hopefully in the future we will begin to see that people can still be punished for a crime without death being an option. Our rights are our rights until they violate someone else's rights, but a person also shouldn't have to die if isn't their time to die.
