President Obama's Speech to the Youth

The goal in Obama's speech was to reach out to the American youth and stress the importance of getting a good education. Obama also stated that when we give up on our education and ourselves, we also give up on our country. Among this, his goals were also to let us know the youth know that there is also someone of higher authority that you can talk to to help you receive the best education. Honestly, as far as saying whether or not his goal was reached, I can only truly speak for myself. Although I have been told pretty much the same thing repetitiously throughout my entire life, I believe the speech had an impact on me, and I do believe that there are probably many students who believed in his speech and believed that the speech impacted them as well. I believe Obama's speech was a monumental moment because America has never had a president to speak to the American youth from a high school and have it publicly broadcasted for all of America to veiw. This shows that Obama truly cares about the education that we as youth receive. I agree with Obama's views of everybody doing their part because we are the future. The message that I received from Obama's speech was that I need to work harder in school and not give up so easily. I also realized that it is easier to give up than to keep persevering but I know that if I work hard my work will eventually pay off. I am unsure if this speech changed American students veiw on education, but I truly believe only time will reveal if his messsage was an impact on the youth of America.
